AirSpeed Wireless

AirSpeed Wireless is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) that has been serving San Luis Obispo County since 2004!  We are now serving Kings and Tulare Counties.  We realize that the Internet is a valuable part of people's businesses and daily lives, so we work hard for our customers and strive to provide highly available Internet connectivity.  We have a proven track record with over 99.99% uptime - not many Internet providers can make this claim!

How does it work?

We have wireless Internet distribution antennas located in strategic rural areas.  These antennas provide Internet service to underserved areas.  Each customer has an antenna installed on their business or home, which communicates with our distribution antennas.  The antenna installed at the customer site interfaces with a computer or WiFi router.  A WiFi router allows for the service to be shared with several computers within the home or business.

Our service is much more responsive than Satellite Internet service since our wireless signals travel only a few miles - unlike Satellite Internet whose signals travel over 45,000 miles.  This causes a delay called latency.  AirSpeed's latency is much lower - in fact 25x lower, which means a more responsive Internet connection for our customers!
